My Bio

Politics found me — but service is what stayed with me.

As a protégé of the late Mayor Sharpe James, I learned early that leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about showing up for people, every single day.

But what drives me isn’t just what I learned —

it’s what I’ve seen.

I’ve met parents forced to choose between paying rent or giving their child a chance to play.

I’ve seen residents do everything right — and still struggle just to get by.

I’ve seen everyday problems — parking, clean streets, access to opportunity — go unanswered for far too long.

Those moments stay with you.

Because Newark deserves more than survival.

We deserve stability. Opportunity. A city that works for us.

That’s why I’m running — to continue a legacy of service,

and to help build a Newark where no one is left just trying to get by.

My Key Issues

🔑Quality of Life

Every Newark resident deserves streets that are safe, well-lit, and clean. I’m committed to holding the city accountable for trash collection and repairs, supporting community cleanups, and working with neighbors to reduce violence. Clean streets aren’t just about appearances—they’re about pride, safety, and respect for our community.

🏀Youth, Recreation & Access to Opportunity

We need to prioritize youth in the city budget. -Bring back Sharpe’s Recreation Fees line item -Ensure consistent funding for youth programs - Protect recreation from being cut or overlooked 👉 If we fund it, families can rely on it

🚗 Fair Parking That Actually Works

Parking is one of the most frustrating everyday issues for Newark residents — and it’s not being handled fairly. Not all wards are created equally. Each has different challenges. Enforcement should never outpace infrastructure. End aggressive ticketing in areas with clear parking shortages Introduce warning-first policies in high-impact zones Conduct a full audit of parking availability vs. enforcement patterns 👉 Residents should not be punished for system failures

🏠 Housing, Stability & Real Opportunity

Newark residents deserve more than just getting by — they deserve the ability to build stable, secure lives in the city they call home. Right now, too many families are struggling to keep up in a system that isn’t designed for them. With an average household income around $27,000 in many parts of our community, we cannot continue building and planning as if everyone can afford market-rate housing. We need to shift from survival to stability — and from renting to ownership. Create Housing That Matches Our Reality Push for development that reflects what residents actually earn Require deeper affordability — not just minimum requirements
